John Oates of Hall & Oates says new tech in music could lead to a 'crazy, scary world'

FOX News

John Oates, of Hall & Oates, is wary of the future represented by artificial intelligence in the music industry. "Look at what's coming in with AI, the possibility that AI is going to be replacing songwriters and artists for that matter," Oates told Fox News Digital. "The idea that there could be a newโ€ฆ David Bowie album. AI could take David Bowie's voice and extrapolate and sample his music for his entire career and write new David Bowie songs, and the record company could put it out." He added, "A younger generation might not even know. They might not even know he's dead for that matter. So there's a lot going on and you have to pay attention."

Researching interdisciplinary methods in computational creativity โ€“ interview with Nadia Ady and Faun Rice

AIHub

Nadia Ady and Faun Rice are working on a research project exploring where artificial intelligence (AI) researchers find inspiration and ideas about human intelligence and what approaches they use to translate ideas from the disciplines that study human intelligence (e.g. We spoke to Nadia and Faun about the project, what they've learnt so far, and how they plan to further develop the work. Faun: We are doing a multidisciplinary project โ€“ I'm from the social sciences, while Nadia works on artificial intelligence. We're interviewing other artificial intelligence researchers who work with direct analogs from human psychology and try to translate them for machines in some way. For one, we talk to them about how they find the definitions that they're working with.

The Robots Are Coming: The Rise of OpenAI and ChatGPT - CTaccess

According to the New York Times, Google became the World's largest search engine in 2000 when it reached the point where it indexed over 1 billion web pages. Since then, Google has become a household word. We "Google it" to learn anything we need, want, or are just curious about. The supremacy of Google has reigned for the last 20 years in the search engine space. Interestingly, recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) with the OpenAI and ChatGPT engine are causing many to question whether the rule of Google will end.

#artificialintelligence

Alex Svinov is the CEO and Co-founder of Insquad, the platform to build remote development teams. He believes that the future of work is in remote teams โ€“ and this notion will radically change the world as it will bring opportunity and talent closer to each other. Alex launched Insquad after facing challenges in hiring senior tech talent for his previous startup. He tried staffing services, but they were expensive and did not give a lot of value to him as a startup. So he decided to solve this problem and help the startup community as well as offer great opportunities to the talent in underprivileged countries. Alex is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor -- 10 investments in IT companies all over the world -- Forbes council member and Alchemist mentor. In the past 10 years, he has created several successful startups in industry areas that he had no experience in before -- FinTech, outsourcing, HRTech, and food service. He is passionate about making new tech products and services and helping distributed teams achieve their goals. Alex met with Bill Clinton and Queen Elizabeth in Moscow's high school. Outside of work, he's a father of 3, plays tennis and regularly participates in amateur tournaments. Today I have with me, Alex Svinov. Now, Alex is the CEO and Co-founder of Insquad, which is a platform to build remote development teams and as the world basically circulates around technology these days, it's very very important to get a great development team and remote now as we know with the pandemic has produced change the way we work. Why You Must Embrace Responsible AI Now

#artificialintelligence

"What we're hearing from our friends and thought leaders in this space that pay close attention to the regulations is just behave as though you're under the European Union's AI Act guidelines, whether you're in Europe, America, or anywhere else," says Roetzer. Regulations like the AI Act will be used as a template by other governments soon. You can't avoid issues around responsible and ethical AI. Regulations will force you to act. Even if you're an AI beginner, you'll quickly run into ethical issues around data, how it's used, and who provides it. You need an AI ethics policy or guidelines.

What I learn from AI Day 2022 by Tesla

#artificialintelligence

Yes, Robots are the Artificial Humans. Personally, I also learn that by having Robots โ€“ Artificial Humans, not all humans are required to make new real humans. Nothing is hidden and nothing is secret. All the work they do can also be studied, imitated, and done by other companies. This means that other companies can also work and act as "artificial Tesla".

Leaders in Tech on Redesigning Workflow with AI

#artificialintelligence

What is it's the most common use word. At least you know you will find companies talking about that. What is automation for a product company like yours Jennifer Shore. It's it's great to see life people in three days. So if I could take a step back and say what is it terrorists do. So we are literally solving one of the world's hardest problems right now which is focusing on transparency in the global supply chain. And so what's happened that we've all just lived through in the last two and a half years is that every company in the world got very swiftly educated how connected they were to each other. And they also realized very very quickly that the way they had been looking at risk in their supply chain was manual right. It was with you know you think about when you onboard a new supplier or vendor you Google. You look it up and say oh is that good or bad. Well whether it's a ship going sideways in a canal whether it's the unfortunate situation with the Ukraine Russia and the 3000 global sanctions against Russia and no one knows if they're doing business with Russia or not. So when you think about this digital transformation there has been a swift uptick in our industry because CEOs and boards are realizing that understanding risk and the transparency in their supply chain is tied to their bottom line.

Using Applied AI To Fix Political Fundraising And Telesales - AI Summary

#artificialintelligence

On those rare occasions when I have spoken to someone who is both experienced and informed, even if I do not buy, I do not resent the company for making the attempt, and there have been times when I enjoyed the call. With a lot of us working from home, sometimes just having a human to talk to is nice and provides an opportunity for greater close rates, while we are under the current pandemic cloud. Watson was implemented with a woman's voice, and one of the side stories was of the number of men who appeared to want to date the computer, thinking it was real. An AI-based telesales system like Watson can not only improve yields, but can also create a more solid relationship with the prospect, better assuring they remain loyal -- rather than becoming disgusted with their party and not donating or voting for them. The interesting thing is that if more companies used these systems, not only would automated donation generation and telesales operations be more successful, they would also upset fewer people and create stronger relationships between the prospects and the brand.

We run the peopleHum blog and video channel which receives upwards of 200,000 visitors a year and publish around 2 interviews with well-known names globally, every month. We're thrilled to have you on our series. Awesome to be here and welcome to everyone, and my first wish is that everyone is awake, aware and well, today! Thank you so much for that. You know, my experience of living in one place and working on pretty much every other continent on the planet really made me aware that I was always in, kind of autopilot. The media tends to do that, both in the way that it bombards us. And I find that I personally was really being the same way, and so, in that regard for me, mindfulness became a way to really get present to what was going on wherever I happen to be on the planet for my GPS location, but also where my head and my mind and my body is located. The most recent Harvard study actually shows that 47% of the time that we're out of bed and awakened vertical, our mind and our body are actually not in the same place.

Do tech companies' AI investments actually overlap with national priorities?

#artificialintelligence

Best listening experience is on Chrome, Firefox or Safari. A lot of corporate research effort goes into artificial intelligence and machine learning. But do the top tech companies' investments coincide with national priorities for competitiveness and scientific leadership? That's what Georgetown University's Center for Security and Emerging Technology set out to discover. Research fellow Tim Hwang joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin for the findings.
